Farm & Ranch Insurance in Idaho

Farm & Ranch

Coverage built for rural Idaho.

Farm Bureau began by protecting farm families, and agriculture is still at the heart of what we do. A working farm isn't a house with extra buildings. It has equipment, animals, employees, and risks of its own.

Whether you farm full time, raise a few animals, or own rural acreage, I'll help you cover your property, your operation, and your liability.

Coverage Guide

What farm and ranch coverage can include

Farm buildings and barns

Barns, shops, grain bins, and other buildings that keep your operation running.

Equipment and machinery

Tractors, implements, and other equipment you rely on every season.

Livestock

Coverage for animals, depending on the policy and the perils involved.

Farm liability

Helps protect you if someone is injured on your farm or you're held responsible for damage.

Rural homes and outbuildings

Your farmhouse, shops, and detached buildings, insured the way rural property should be.

Hobby farms and horse properties

A few acres and a few animals still carry real risk. Let's make sure you're covered.

What I'll ask when we talk

  • Acreage and what you grow or raise
  • The buildings on the property and what they're worth
  • A list of equipment and machinery
  • Employees, helpers, or visitors on the property
  • Whether you sell at a stand or market, or host visitors

Good to know

  • Standard homeowners policies usually limit or exclude farm operations and equipment
  • Selling products or hosting guests can change your liability picture
  • Keeping a current list of equipment and values makes claims easier
  • Hobby farms and horse properties have their own needs
Common Questions

Farm and ranch insurance questions

I only have a few acres. Do I need farm insurance?

It depends on how you use the land. A home on acreage may fit a homeowners policy, while animals, equipment, or income from the land may call for farm coverage. Tell me about your property and I'll recommend the right fit.

Is my equipment covered by my homeowners policy?

Usually coverage for farm equipment and business property is limited under a standard homeowners policy. Farm policies are designed for this. Send me a list of what you have and we'll review it.

Do you cover hobby farms and horse properties?

Yes. Many of my clients have a few acres, a few animals, and no intention of farming for a living. They still need the right protection.

Is Farm Bureau insurance only for farmers?

No. Farm Bureau serves families, homeowners, and businesses in town as well as farms and ranches. Ask me how Farm Bureau membership works with your coverage.
